Dr. VanderLaan was born and raised in West Michigan, graduating from East Kentwood High School. He proceeded to the University of Michigan, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology and an academic minor in Spanish. In 2009, Dr. VanderLaan completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the prestigious University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He returned to his hometown and spent the first 3 years of his career as a public health dentist. In 2012, he started VanderLaan Family Dentistry after acquiring a small dental practice in Cutlerville. In 2014, the practice moved to its current home at the corner of 84th Street and Clyde Park Ave. in Byron Center. The current facility has nearly every technology of modern dentistry available for patients’ benefit.
